Alpha interferon has inhibited the growth of ovarian ascitic tumor cells in colonogic assay in vitro, although cells isolated from soid ovarian tumors are often less susceptible.
We administrated intraperitonial interferon-alpha to ascitic advanced epitherial cancer with previous cytoreductive surgery and cytotoxic chemotheraphy.
The uaual single dosage was 3900×10E6 unit at weekly intervals from six times and 3000×10E6 units at later two times.
We noted no objective solid tumor responce (CA-125, Cytology follow up), however, ascites nearly completely disappeared; toxicity was represented by fever in majority, by hematologic complication(leucopenia and anemia), by puncture site reddness,
and
repoted with a brief review of literature.
